Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark

Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark is located in the north of Vietnam, 300km from Hanoi Capital, and has an area of 3,000km². It includes six districts: Ha Quang, Tra Linh, Quang Uyen, Trung Khanh, Ha Lang, Phuc Hoa and part of another three districts: Hoa An, Nguyen Binh and Thach An. The geopark is home to nine different ethnic groups, including Tay, Nung,Mong, Kinh, Dao, San Chay…


Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark is an exceptional territory in which it is possible to explore the history of our Planet Earth forover 500 million years through protected sites. Here, fossils, marine sediments, volcanic and plutonic rocks and minerals are witness to theremarkable evolution and changes of our Planet, and they constitute an exceptional geological heritage.

Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark is also a land of many tangible and intan gible cultural heritage sites, especially historical monuments, of which there are two Special National Monuments: Pac Bo, where President Ho Chi Minh lived and worked the early days to lead Vietnam's revolution; and Tran Hung Dao Forest, where the Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army (the predecessor of the present day Vietnam People’s Army) was established. The area is also well-known for its high biological diversity with abundant endemic plant and an imal species and ecosystems.

Three "experience routes" give the visitor an excellent opportunity to discover the Geopark as well as its partners and the local population. Each of these routes can be visited, with a guide, in one or two days and will constitute a unique and unforgettable Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark experience!
